Here Are The 5 Ways To Stay Hydrated
Follow these tips to keep yourself hydrated without drinking water every 10 minutes-
1. Add These Foods to Your Eating List
Foods also contain certain content of water and are great hydration helpers. The foods which can help you stay hydrated are-
Oatmeal in Breakfast
Start your day with oatmeal as a healthy hydration helper. Along with hydrating properties, it is a great filling food. When cooking oats they absorb water or milk that they are being cooked in. You can also soak them overnight and eat cool oatmeal in the mornings. Sprinkle chia seeds when soaking oats overnight. Chia seeds soak about 10 times more liquid and are a healthy addition to oatmeal.
Lemongrass
If you are wondering what to drink to stay hydrated? Here is the answer, lemongrass is one of the best herbs for staying hydrated. Not only it helps with dehydration but it treats indigestion, improves gut functioning, and lowers body temperature. You can consume lemongrass tea to avail its benefits. Or soak a few leaves in bathing water using a mesh bag.
Smoothies
Smoothies are a heavenly combination of yogurt and fresh fruits. These are bombs of taste and nutrients. Also, they go great to stay hydrated. Use strawberries, peaches, cucumbers, blueberries, or spinach to make hydrating smoothies.

Milk
Studies have revealed that milk is even more hydrating than water. It contains carbohydrates, calcium, electrolytes, proteins, and a lot of other nutrients.
Carb Alternatives
Give up those meals with heavy carbs with little hydration. Instead, go for alternatives of carbs like zucchini noodles which are packed with more water than normal pasta or noodles. Also, using the right vegetables like tomatoes will even hike up the water content of your meal. Tomatoes alone contain around 90% water in themselves.
Vegetables
Healthy salads are abundant sources of water content. For instance, lettuce contains 94% water. Other vegetables like celery, bell peppers, carrots, tomatoes, etc also hydrate boosters.
Soups
Soups are great craving busters. Whenever you have one, just get some broth-based soups to get your stomach filled and body hydrated. Blend vegetables like cucumbers, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, and garlic cloves with high water content.
2. Avoid Alcoholic Drinks
Alcohol drains water content out of your body. They have to dehydrate nature and are harmful if consumed in higher amounts. If you cannot avoid drinking, drink a lot of water along with it. Studies have shown that drinking alcohol on dehydration has devastating results.
Drinking water will compensate for water loss due to alcohol consumption. You can go for one glass of water for every glass of drink.
3. Do not Drink Chilled Water
Water straight out of the refrigerator is not good for the human body. It inhibits the speed of digestion and thus, the food is not properly digested. The body becomes unable to absorb nutrition from food properly.
Cool water affects levels of sweating and rehydration poorly. Water consumed at 40C makes people consume lesser water and stay hydrated for long. Ayurveda also suggests that drinking cold water is harmful to the body.
You can drink water stored in earthen pots. These pots regulate the temperature of water according to climatic conditions.
4. Say NO to Processed Foods
Processed foods like chips, cookies, muffins, sugary drinks, and beverages are proven to cause dehydration in the human body. They reduce the retained fluid in the human body.
Instead of these processed foods, go for healthy options like coconut water, yogurt, buttermilk, etc.
5. Eat Frozen Fruits
You can stay hydrated by eating yummy popsicles made of fruit and water. Just fill popsicle molds with your favorite hydrating fruits like watermelon, kiwis, strawberries, etc. Add water and place them in the freezer for some time.
Who knew consuming fruits could be this fun. I love making these delicious popsicles at least once a week. They are great sources of hydration as well as nutrition.

So, keep yourself hydrated all the time for proper functioning of your body. Incorporate these foods and follow the tips to consume hydrating and healthy foods.
